Cranio Rainforest Indian on Brick Lane

Cranio from Brazil has been back in town!   He has repainted one of his favourite spots with a new version of his Amazon rainforest Indian.

Cranio – Brick Lane, 2015

Previously Cranio painted versions of the Indian on 2013 and 2014.   Notice the cunning little trick in the 2012 and 2013 versions which made the Indian appear to stand in front of the wall, can you see how he did it?

We will be sure to keep you posted on any news from Cranio on this visit but meanwhile, you can check out his show in the pop up gallery Fun Factory on Bethnal Green Road in 2013.

Shoreditch Street Art Tours Guest Photographs

Shoreditch’s street art is incredibly photogenic, lending itself to sensational colourful images whether you are using a camera phone or a full frame ultra high spec digital SLR.

On a recent tour Robert Benson brought along a lovely Nikon which happens to be the same camera I use when I am out photographing street art on days when I am not leading street art tours.  Robert has sent over a selection of the lovely photographs that he took on his visit and Shoreditch Street Art Tours is delighted to share them with you, thank you Robert.

Fresh Interventions: Cranio and Art Is Trash hit Shoreditch Streets

More excitement with new street art pieces found on the Shoreditch Street Art Tours today.  In the morning we were able to inspect the new painting Cranio of Brazil completed yesterday evening.  This characteristically colourful beauty features a host of partying rainforest Indians in a denuded landscape, flush with cash from the sale of their forest to the loggers, now what happened to that forest heh?.  Cranio returned to Brazil today and certainly has left London streets a little bit brighter than when he arrived.

Cranio Rainforst Indians Party Time

Then in the afternoon we found a truly spectacular new fly poster subversion by Art Is Trash of Spain.  We must have been so close to the performance of this action as he evidently started and finished it in the short gap between the two tours passing by.  This picture comes from Shoreditch Street Art Tour afternoon guest Mark Truman, thank you very much Mark

We reported Art Is Trash’s previous fly poster hijack last week here, those fly posters were “collected” by persons unknown looking  for some Art Is Trash material for their private collection.

Street Art Gallery Thursday 29th – Cranio Night at Fun Factory

The party fun tonight certainly makes up in quality what it lacks in quantity.  The only event on the Shoreditch Street Art Tours calendar tonight is Cranio’s special one off one night only show at Fun Factory.

Cranio, beloved Brazil street artist has been hectically busy in London over the past few weeks with multiple new pieces up on Shoreditch Walls not to mention elsewhere.  He has also been working hard on fresh studio paintings and tonight will be the only time a cluster of large and very special hand finished prints will be seen all together by the public.

Maybe HIN will be around to speculate on why the flipped finger, the bomb belt and the genitalia on the Cranio/HIN collab mural on Grimsby St weren’t buffed but his paste up heads were!  (we think we can guess the answer)
